We are pleased to confirm the appointment of a new Local Communications Officer, W. Bro Nigel Dickens of Kingsley Lodge 2431. Nigel replaces W Bro Tony Potter who has retired from the role after many years of distinguished service. Nigel will work with the other Northampton Communications Officer, WBro Andy Moore, to facilitate communications to/from the Northampton Lodges.
Nigel was initiated into Apollo Lodge 7886(EC) in the District of Cyprus in October 1988 while serving in the RAF, but because of his posting back to the UK in 1990 and the arrival of his first daughter, his progression in Freemasonry paused for a time.
However, on leaving the RAF in 2002 and settling back in Northampton, he became a joining member of Kingsley Lodge, working his way through the ranks to become Master in 2011. He is currently Lodge Mentor.
Nigel was Exalted into Kingsley Chapter in 2007 and is presently 2nd Principal. He is also a member of Northampton Castle Mark and Victory Preceptory No 207 Knights Templar and is currently the Deputy Commander of the Provincial Priors Bodyguard.
Nigel married his wife Helen in 1979 and they have two grown up daughters. Since leaving the RAF, he has been working as an IT and Information Security specialist and is currently a Cyber Security Consultant.
We are very pleased to welcome Nigel to our Provincial Communications Team.

At the Petriburg Lodge No 8767 on Tuesday 8th November 2016, the Worshipful Master, WBro David Cawkwell invited WBro Eric Samler to occupy the chair of King Solomon. WBro Eric proceeded to initiate his son, David Samler, in a very moving ceremony, which was unique in several ways and enjoyed by everyone present. WBro John Harvey gave an explanation of the preparation of a Candidate and the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, WBro David Burton gave an explanation of the working tools, which he stated he had not performed for over twenty years! The ceremony concluded with WBro Leo McCormick giving the charge after initiation.

The Lodge of Prudence No. 8946 enjoyed a double celebration at its recent Installation meeting on October 22nd, 2016.
WBro Eddie Hilton was installed into the Masters Chair for the second time, however on this occasion, the outgoing Worshipful Master, WBro Renaud Foussal de Belerd, kindly allowed WBro Eddie’s son, WBro Anthony Hilton, to conduct the Inner Working and install his father into the Chair of King Solomon.
The second cause for celebration was for WBro Arthur Jolly who received a certificate from the Province celebrating his 50 years of service to Freemasonry. WBro Jerry Higgins, presented the certificate to WBro Arthur and referred to WBro Arthur's long and varied Masonic career during which he had received Provincial Grand Honours in three provinces, including our own. WBro Arthur made a heartfelt reply, thanking the brethren of the Lodge and the Province for honouring him with the presentation of this special certificate.
