In a ceremony held at Harrogate’s Royal Hall on Monday the 21st of March 2022, RWBro James Henry Newman OBE was installed as the Provincial Grand Master of the Masonic Province of Yorkshire West Riding.
An ex-pupil of Wellingborough School, RWBro James is no stranger to the Masonic Province of Northants and Hunts. He is a member of Old Wellingburian Lodge No. 5570 and Three Counties Lodge No. 9278.
Accordingly, it was entirely fitting that our Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Max Bayes - now the longest serving and most senior Provincial Grand Master in the United Grand Lodge of England - should assist the Assistant Grand Master, RWBro Sir David Wootton, by taking the Senior Warden’s chair during the Installation ceremony.
