Buckby Castle Lodge No.8932, led by Worshipful Master, W.Bro Rob Ballinger, continue with their tremendous fund-raising efforts.
This time the worthy recipient was Alfie Whitmore, a disabled 5 year old from Braunston, Northants who suffers from an ultra-rare condition called Marshall-Smith Syndrome (MSS) which is a genetic disorder in where individuals typically have an advanced bone age, difficulty in gaining weight, unique facial features and intellectual disability.
W.Bro Rob identified earlier that part of the money raised this current year would go towards assisting with Alfie’s equipment needs and also to recognise his sister for her caring support. This being the local charitable initiative on the Lodge Masters List; alongside regional and Masonic charites.
On the 7th April 2023, Alfie and his family received a cheque for £1,000 from the Lodge which was greatly appreciated with big smiles all around.
Several Lodge members attended including Charity Steward W.Bro Paul Justice, together with newest member Bro Mark Stoneham, who presented an additional cheque for £280 which was collected as part of a ‘green initiative’ at the company he manages Axon Public Safety Ltd that came from the agreed sale of wooden pallets for re-cycling.
Great work indeed by all involved!
