On the 20th March 2023 The Richard Sandbach Lodge of Research No. 9600 held its Annual Lecture at the Ellindon Masonic Centre, Peterborough, with a presentation entitled `The Victoria Cross`

The Deputy Provincial Grand Master VW Bro Charles Bennett PGSwdB attended and he was accompanied by the Provincial Assistant Director of Ceremonies W Bro J Napper, together with over 90 Brethren present.
This superb lecture told the history of this iconic medal from its inception to present day and the remarkable bravery of some of the servicemen who were awarded the Victoria Cross. WBro Mark Smith (of The Antiques Roadshow fame) received rapturous applause from the Brethren present and later announced he had a `Part Two` lecture entitled 'Hearts of Oak'.
