Consecration of Cervisia Lodge No. 10032

After several years of planning, the Province’s 97th lodge, Cervisia Lodge No. 10032, was finally Consecrated on Saturday the 18th March 2023 at Freemasons' Hall, The Griggs Centre, Sheaf Close, Northampton.
Over 170-brethren attended the Consecration of this specialist lodge for brethren with an interest in beer and the brewing industry, which included a wonderful ceremony and a most enjoyable festive board.

The wonderful ceremony was led by the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Mark Constant and his Executive team. It included both thought-provoking, and at times amusing, addresses by the Provincial Grand Chaplain, WBro Aaron Day, and was well orchestrated throughout by the Provincial Secretariat and the Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, WBro Roger Blason, who was ably assisted by his deputies.

The occasion was further enhanced by the music of the Provincial Grand Organist, WBro Bill Wright, and a choir comprising members of Pro Musica Lodge No. 9547, both of which contributed to a wonderful atmosphere.

Once the consecration ceremony had concluded, the Lodge’s first installation meeting was led by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VWBro Charles Bennett PGSwdB, who installed WBro Lee Kellett, PPStwd in fine style as the Lodge’s founding Worshipful Master.

WBro Lee then appointed and invested his officers in a wonderful manner. WBro Ian O`Connor was appointed as Senior Warden and WBro John Line as Junior Warden. Other officers were duly invested, and the lodge’s joining members provided excellent support throughout.

With membership of the lodge aimed at brethren who have an interest in beer or brewing of all types, they have made an excellent start with 32-founding members and the Lodge set to be most successful.

Cervisia Lodge No 10032 Secretary, WBro Graham Nobbs said:

“It has been a long road, and not without a few bumps including Covid, but our determination and enthusiasm for our new Cervisia Lodge kept the focus on the day we would be consecrated.
I am proud and honoured to be the founding Secretary and one of the four members who started the whole thing. I am also grateful for the help of the Provincial Secretariat and together we were able to steer the Project Beer Lodge - as it was known before the name was approved - to a satisfactory conclusion, which has been a wonderful achievement by all those involved.
