On 20th February 2018 Bro. Francis Lee was exalted into the Supreme Order of the Royal Arch at Cytringan Chapter 4048, completing his journey in Pure and Ancient Freemasonry.
The Chapter was honoured to receive E. Comp. Mark Constant 3rd Provincial Grand Principal who was escorted by E. Comp. Stephen Seward Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies. The Chapter's Principals E Comp Peter Chown, E. Comp. John Cummins and E. Comp. Stuart Nichols led the Chapter with some excellent ritual. Special mention should be made to E. Comp. Graham Rogers who stood in as Sojourner for the evening.
The signs were expertly delivered by Comp John Wooding and E Comp Melvyn Chimes assisting with a lovely piece of work. The Mystical Lecture was delivered by E Comp Jeff Freeman, E Comp Stephen Wright and E Comp Roger Hutchinson in exemplary style.
There followed a very enjoyable festive board to round the evening off.

The 25th of May 2018 is an important day for data protection. It sees the launch of the European General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), which will be incorporated into UK law as part the Data Protection Act (DPA) 2018.
The new act updates existing data protection law and replaces the Data Protection Act enacted in 1998; it is important for several reasons:
- Firstly, it directly links data protection law and the security of personal information.
- Secondly, it introduces new data-protection rights such as the right to be forgotten; also, the right to request personal information and transfer it to others.
- Thirdly, it requires that appropriate technical controls are implemented to protect personal information.
- Fourthly, it requires breaches of security to be reporting to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) as well as the persons to who the information is related. This must be done within 72 hours of a breach being discovered.
- Finally, it makes the persons controlling and processing personal information equally responsible for the information's security.
Saturday the 17th of March 2018 was a special day for both Abington Lodge No. 8041 and the Griffiths family.
Not only did the Lodge welcome another initiate, which is always a special event, but the candidate on this occasion was Lt David Griffiths, a serving officer of the Royal Navy and the son of WBro Selwyn Griffiths.
