On Tuesday 3rd June 2025, W Bro Ged Dempsey, a co-founder of Three Pillars Feeding The Homeless Trust was invited to receive a Rose of Northamptonshire Award from a representative of the Lord Lieutenant of Northamptonshire which was a tremendous accolade for the charity.
These awards recognise all the work that unsung heroes, like the Three Pillars volunteers, do to build happy and healthy communities. This awards initiative is managed by Northamptonshire Community Foundation, in partnership with North Northamptonshire Council and West Northamptonshire Council. It was presented at a dedicated tea party hosted by Northamptonshire Community Foundation and West Northamptonshire Council.
St James Three Pillars in Northampton served over 10,000 meals throughout 2024 by opening their doors every Tuesday and Friday at St James’ Church in Northampton as well as supporting those attending in many different ways.
W Bro Ged said, “It was a great privilege to receive the Rose of Northamptonshire Award. It is an award which recognises the hard work and efforts of all the Three Pillars volunteers without their time, without their hard work and commitment then there would be no Three Pillars. Consequently, this would be to the detriment of our friends in the communities in which we live and who rely on our service. Well done, team, be very proud of this award”
