On Sunday, 15th December, Ellindon was filled with the spirit of giving as Freemasons, their families, and numerous volunteers from Peterborough Hospital came together for a wonderful cause. With incredible generosity, they spent their day wrapping a significant number of presents destined for local children who would otherwise have no gifts to open this Christmas.
This inspiring charity initiative, supported by St Peter's Lodge in Peterborough, was conceived in 2016. The idea emerged after members of Peterborough Hospital visited "The Grub Hub," a local charity that supports families facing hardship. In its first year, the initiative provided around 50 presents for underprivileged children, but it has grown exponentially since then. This charity is now fully supported by the North West Anglia Foundation Trust Charitable Fund.
Last year, "The Giving Tree" charity donated approximately 1,800 presents, and this year, the total has surpassed all expectations. The ongoing success of this project is a testament to the kindness and dedication of everyone involved, and it continues to bring joy to countless children in need within the community.
