Tuesday 23rd January heralded the much-anticipated Anglo Scottish annual Information Evening on behalf of the Northampton Group of Lodges.

The Lodge opened and after a very brief meeting closed. The Gentlemen and hosts were brought in, and entertained and informed with some excellent presentations on Freemasonry, its meaning, and reasons for its appeal to so many. Talks were delivered by WBro Mike Caseman-Jones, APGM, WBro Jonathon Hibbins, ProvGMO.

However, the most moving and inspiring presentations were made by Bro Gary Swailes, WBro Rick Hallberg and Bro Gerry McCrory, explaining in often emotional and thought provoking ways, how Freemasonry has provided them with vital friendships, personal development opportunities and support through darker times.

Everyone withdrew to the bar and a memorable Festive Board for wonderful fellowship. The now famous Anglo Scottish Burns Night celebrations included the bag pipes being played by the legendary WBro Jack Bogan, and the address to the Haggis and Tam O’Shanter poem delivered by WBro Alex Thomson in, dare I say, the finest form yet!

20 gentlemen arrived as strangers and left as friends with all having enjoyed a fantastic evening discovering Freemasonry and either in the pipeline for Initiation or wanting to begin their journey…

The next Information Evening is 23rd February hosted by Dr Oliver Lodge in Peterborough – look out for details soon and join us with a friend or colleague who may be interested…
