The Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro Mark Constant and his wife Dawn attended the 3 Pillars feeding station at St James Church, Northampton to see first hand their excellent work. However, they didn’t just attend, they got totally involved taking orders and delivering food to all our friends and visitors at the tables.
Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Michael Caseman-Jones and his wife Gail, who are regular volunteers were also in attendance along with many other helpers .
The menu was a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings followed by a dessert and the team at St James delivered an amazing service to many of our most vulnerable people.
However, meals are only part of what happens, with the social interaction of significant value and appreciated by all. Also, food parcels, sleeping bags and tents are available for those in need.
The Provincial Grand Master summed up his visit:
`As we go about our busy lives at work or in retirement, enjoying our hobbies, we take so much for granted. To spend two hours in the company of those less fortunate than ourselves, is a most humbling and thought provoking experience. This initiative between the 3 Pillars and St James’s church, bringing together our Masonic members and the Church congregation, is a fantastic example of the positive impact that such a collaboration can achieve within our community.
I am extremely proud of the work our members do through the 3 Pillars Charity and would encourage all our members to support one of the sessions at any of the 3 Pillars sites, you will find it a most rewarding time`.
