Provincial Grand Lodge & Three Counties Meetings

The Province recently enjoyed a most successful annual meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge held on Thursday the 16th May 2019. Also, a similarly successful and enjoyable Past Rank Promotions meeting of the Three Counties Lodge held the following week on Wednesday the 22nd May 2019.

Both meetings took place at the Provincial headquarters, Sheaf Close, Northampton and were very well attended by Brethren from across the Province and beyond.

At the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting, the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Max Bayes took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the outgoing Assistant Provincial Grand Master, WBro David Burton PSGD, on his retirement, thanking him for serving the Province "impeccably" in that role for the past four years.

The PGM went on to say that although he hoped WBro David would be able to take a well-earned rest, he had asked him to join the Peterborough Group Officers, where he expected him to make a significant contribution.

The Provincial Grand Master was then pleased to appoint, obligate and invest WBro Mark Constant JGD as Assistant Provincial Grand Master to serve as a member of the Provincial Executive in the coming year. WBro Mark is both well-known and well-respected in the Province having served with distinction as Senior Grand Warden and a past Third Grand Principal in the Holy Royal Arch.

The meeting also witnessed the retirement of WBro David Watson PAGDC as Provincial Grand Treasurer. After seven "exemplary" year's service in that role, WBro David has been appointed to head a group of experienced brethren to oversee future membership retention. WBro Paul Sparks PPJGW was duly elected to serve as Provincial Grand Treasurer for the coming years.

The Provincial Grand Master was delighted to appoint WBro Graham Minett as Provincial Senior Grand Warden and WBro Gilbert Williamson as Provincial Junior Grand Warden. He also took the opportunity to thank the outgoing Senior and Junior Grand Wardens, WBro Bob Cox and WBro Tony Elsey, for their support during a very successful year. The Provincial Grand Master then proceeded to appoint those other brethren who were receiving active or first appointments to Provincial Grand Rank.

The Three Counties Past Rank Promotions meeting saw many brethren who are the backbone of both the Province and their own lodges honoured with promotions to Past Provincial Grand Rank.

The Provincial Grand Master addressed the brethren at both meetings, reporting that the Province is in good heart. He appraised them of significant developments and wishes them an enjoyable summer.
