On a very chilly, snow-laden December 10th, 2017, brave souls from around the Province joined together at Peterborough Cathedral for the Province's Annual Festival of Lessons & Carols.
Even with the cold weather and poor travelling conditions, this magnificent building was filled by Brethren from across the Province together with members of their family and friends.
The Mayor of Peterborough, Cllr John Fox, was amongst the civic dignitaries in attendance. Also present were the Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Cambridgeshire, Richard Barnwell; Cllr Tim Drye, Deputy Mayor of Stamford; Cllr Sarah Conboy, Mayor of Godmanchester Town Council; Mrs Patricia Stuart-Mogg, Town Clerk of Stamford Town Council; Cllr Anthony Storey, Mayor of Stamford Town Council; and Mrs Valerie Storey, Consort, Mayor of Stamford.
The Acting Dean of Peterborough, Canon Tim Alban Jones, led the service. Lessons were read by the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Max Bayes, as well as the heads of others in the Province including the soon to be outgoing Grand Superintendent, E Comp Wayne Williams and the Provincial Grand Master for the Mark Degree, WBro Bob Stokes.
Following the service, Peterborough lodges hosted mince pies and refreshments, which were enjoyed by all.
