Different Strokes, a charity established in 1996, supports younger stroke victims. After he had recently suffered a minor stroke the Worshipful Master of Danetre Lodge, WBro Rick Hill, became aware the charity and the excellent work they do helping stroke survivors of working age to optimise their recovery, take control of their own lives and regain as much independence as possible by offering rehabilitative services, information and advice.
Different Strokes have a nationwide network of counselling groups and exercise groups that help in the recovery process. Rick and his family very much appreciated this support network, as do many other young stroke victims, whether it be for support, practical advice or just a re-assuring chat.
As Master of Danetre Lodge, Rick was very proud of the efforts of the Lodge in raising over £600. With additional support from the Provincial Charity’s beneficence Rick was able to present a cheque to Different Strokes for £1,200.
