Attended by more than 60 Almoners from across the Province the first meeting of the newly formed Almoners’ Association was held at Sheaf Close on Saturday 14 June 2014. It was opened by the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Max Bayes who said the Almoners position was assuming an ever increasing importance and was a vital part of Freemasonry.
The meeting was addressed by Judy Morrow of the RMBI on the subject of counselling bereavement.
There was also a presentation by WBro Gerry McLaughlin with an overview of work being carried out that will result in Lodge Almoners being able to access contacts and information to help them with their duties.
