In the 2013/14 Masonic season fund raising for the children’s charity, Lifelites has been a Provincial fund raising priority. During the season there have been various fund raising initiatives and donations from Lodges and individuals.
Consequently, the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Max Bayes, was delighted to attend the offices of Lifelites in Great Queen Street, London, on Wednesday 11 June 2014 with the Provincial Grand Almoner, WBro Bill Wright, and the Provincial Grand Treasurer, WBro David Watson, and present a cheque for £15,000 on behalf of the Province. This brought the Province’s total donations to Lifelites during the 2013/14 Masonic season to over £20,000.
In making the presentation, the Provincial Grand Master said
Many are aware of the good work that Lifelites does in bringing fun and help to children in Hospices throughout the country and I am most proud of the way this Province has adopted Lifelites as one of its main charity aims. I congratulate all in the Province who have played a part in this magnificent effort and I am very hopeful we will continue with this initiative into the future.
In receiving the cheque the Lifelites CEO, Simone Enefer-Doy, expressed her delight that the Province had been able to raise so much so quickly and reiterated her assurance that the money would be used for the benefit of Hospices catering for children from our Provincial area.
