Following their first year of fundraising and with the assistance of the Provincial Grand Charity, Rushden LAMs were delighted to present a cheque for £2,000 to Matt Folkes of Wollaston Community First Responders. APGM, WBro Jim Boughton assisted with the presentation on behalf of the Province.
The charity was chosen following a 999 call made on behalf of a LAMs member, Sonia Brown, to which Matt responded. The money will enable the First Responders to purchase two sets of equipment as they are planning to expand their activities to cover the Rushden and Irthlingborough areas.
This year Rushden LAMs are supporting The Stroke Association and Northamptonshire Young Carers in addition to their fund raising for Rushden Masonic Hall.
