Coritani Lodges £1,000 Food Bank Deposit

The Vineyard Centre on Daventry’s High March Estate is one of only two food banks in the county.  It fulfills the very real needs for individuals and family people in the Daventry area who have fallen on hard times and are struggling to afford sufficient food.  Food parcels contain items such as pasta, sauces, spices, biscuits and toiletries.

The Centre also helps its recipients with advice on matters such as how to budget and offers resources such as internet access to help them get back on their feet.

Staffed solely by volunteers the Centre relies entirely on donations.  Anyone visiting them cannot fail to be impressed by the scale of the work they do as well as their professionalism.

Referrals from such bodies such as then Citizens’ Advice Bureau, Social Services and Bromford support, has steadily increased over the years rising to over 500 in 2013.

With the support of the Provincial Grand Charity, Coritani Lodge was able to donate £1,000 to the Vineyard Centre.  The cheque was handed over to the Food Bank's Manager, Barry Preece, by Coritani Lodge's IPM, WBro Paul McGregor.

This donation will go a long way to reducing the hardship suffered by many local people.
