WBro Billy Glover of Corbie Lodge No 9155 and Bro Nick Brown of Unity Lodge No 9495 have walked the 68 miles of the South West Coastal Path this summer raising £1,020 for Teddies for Loving Care. Expecting an easy summer stroll was the first mistake.
Heading south from St Ives, the first day was the most brutal stretch of pathway they had ever encountered. The first 6 miles was a constant series of steep rocky stepped climbs and descents as the pathway rose up over the rutted rocky cliffs and down into the stony inlets.
And so the trail continued for the next 4 days, it may have been hard going but the scenery was stunning and well worth the effort, long sandy beaches, rocky coves, tin mines with tall chimney stacks clinging to the side of cliffs and even the odd golf course.
