Saturday 21 January 2012 saw Peterborough Masons, their lassies and guests gather for the annual Burns Night at Ellindon, Peterborough, organised by WBro David Burton.
The Chieftain for the evening was WBro Tom Webster, Worshipful Master of Petriburg Lodge No 8767.

It was duly addressed by William Campbell. The Immortal Memory was toasted by WBro Ian McLachlan mentioning factual and some not so factual aspects of Rab the Rhymer's life. After a dinner of traditional Scottish fayre the gathering was entertained by readings from WBro George Russell, songs by WBro Sam Hagan and Bro Graham Worraker and a display of Scottish country dancing. WBro Paul Baldwin then gave a light hearted toast to the lassies. The reply by Mrs Alison Nightingale certainly put the men in their place. The highlight of the evening was without doubt the piping of WBro Alistair MacDonald. Without his efforts and the splendid organisation of WBro David Burton the evening would not have been possible. |
