Sunday 11 March 2012 was a remarkable day. The Northampton Saints beat the Scarletts in the semi final of the LV Cup, the sun was shining and, above all else, it was the 100th birthday of our Past Provincial Grand Master RWBro Peter Palmer (seen here at a 2009 Saints match).
To mark the occasion PPGM RWBro Barrie Hall and WBro David Tempest with their wives joined others in paying him a visit at his flat at the Brampton View Care Home in Northampton.

Members of his family had already started a birthday party celebration. RWBro Peter preferred to start eating his birthday cake and drink champagne than waste time blowing out the three candles. He left that task to his great grand children.
The Saint's match day programme carried an article and photograph of RWBro Peter and he was also mentioned over the public address system at half time by the announcer, WBro Geoff Allen.
WBro Peter also had a visit from the local Northampton newspaper (the Chronicle & Echo) and a photographer who took a video and many photos. They arrived with Saints player Bro Paul Diggin who had a gift from the Saints. It was a team shirt signed by all the players with " 100 " printed across the back.

It was a great weekend with a good result for all concerned .
