Ninety one years old W Bro Reg Whittaker, an active member of Ailwyn Lodge No 3535 in Ramsey, has been fit all his life and has been involved with boxing and as a football referee.

It has also recently been revealed that he was awarded the Bletchley Park Medal in recognition of vital service at Bletchley Park and its outstations during World War II. He was in the Special Operations Executive (SOE) during the War and is amongst the last of the few.

On Sunday 8 July 2012 he ran (yes, ran) with the Torch through the streets of Huntingdon. An even greater honour was then conferred on him when he was just one of twelve people selected from the 8,000 who ran with the Torch to visit Windsor Castle on Tuesday the 10 July 2012 to meet Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip.

Bro Jim Redmond, is a member of the Lodge of Harmony No 9048 in this Province and several Lodges in the Province of Buckinghamshire.

He famously helped his son, Derek, complete his 400m semi final in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games after he tore his hamstring.

Bro Jim carried carried the Torch on part of its journey through Kettering on Monday 2 July.

He said, "It was super. It`s a great honour."
