Fishing for Fun

During the summer of 2013, the Masonic Trout & Salmon Fishing Club organised fishing days out at both Ringstead & Earith for disadvantaged youngsters. They had but one aim – to be happy and to communicate happiness.  Judging by the looks on the faces of those taking part, they succeeded.

Each day started with a BBQ breakfast, followed by safety briefing & then on with the fishing.  With many fishing for the first time, great excitement was evident as the fish started to surface from all directions – carp, perch, even dace.

Then lunch, followed by more fishing under the expert guidance of club members and many volunteers.

Each day ended with every youngster receiving an individual certificate to mark their achievements and so complete their special day.
