At their February meeting members of Socrates Lodge No 373 donated £1,500 to Dogs for the Disabled - enough for the Charity to purchase two dogs. This was raised by the Lodge with the help of Provincial Grand Charity.
The cheque was handed to the representative of Dogs for the Disabled, John Van Wyk, who said he was overwhelmed by the generosity of the Lodge. He has pledged himself to collect a minimum of £3,000 by climbing a mountain in Nepal in March.
Members of the Lodge and their ladies were entertained by an excellent demonstration by Andy Lee and his dog Henry.
