Steak Pie Night at Coritani Lodge

Daventry's Coritani Lodge No 8079 celebrated its annual Pickwickian evening on 24 February. The annual event, also known as Steak Pie Night, was the brain child of a founder member, the late WBro Eric Pell PPAGM.

The brethren and guests sang the Pie Song as the Senior Steward, Bro Alan Ford, brought the pie to the Worshipful Master, WBro Neil Carr to be cut. The Festive Board continued with pauses for singing led by Past Master of the Lodge, WBro Johnny Harris.

The 73 brethren present had earlier enjoyed a presentation of the first three parts of the first degree lecture given by a team of 12 brethren ranging from Fellow Crafts to Past Provincial officers. Coritani Lodge presents a lecture each year usually combining it with Pie Night. The lectures are an ideal way to give newer brethren a chance to do some floor work and also make a change from the regular ceremonies of the three degrees.
