The Annual Corby Masonic Golf Competition was once again held at Blackthorn Wood Golf Complex on 24 September 2011 with all Corby Lodges represented.
The event was in support of the Lexie Leggy Fund that is trying to raise £40,000 to enable a three years old Corby girl, Lexie Fordyce, who has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, to have an operation known as Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) Surgery. This will enable her to take her first ever steps. This operation is performed at the St Louis Children's Hospital in Missouri, USA.
The generosity of the Corby Masons and their guests raised over £370 towards the fund.
The day began with a full English breakfast. The inevitable banter was well under way when Bro Matt McKinna (Lodge of Unity 9495) teed off to start the competition. From the field of 31, WBro Ronnie Stone (Ferraria Lodge 8489) emerged the overall winner with an excellent score of 43 points. Bro Merv Williams (Lodge of Unity 9495) with 42 points closely followed in second place.
