The two St Ives Lodges, St Ivo No 2684 and Sothius No 8774, have raised £860 for the young carers of Crossroads Care in St Ives. The Provincial Grand Charity topped up this donation to £1500.
The cheque was presented to Dr Helen Brown at the Crossroads Care offices in St Ives on the 12 August 2010 by W Bro Mike Tuppen, Master of St Ivo Lodge, and W Bro Sid Bower, Master of Sothius Lodge. WBro Peter Theakston, a member of both Lodges, co-ordinated the event.
WBro Bill Hensley, also of Sothius Lodge, is the local Communications Officer for the Huntingdon Group. Wearing another hat, he is the Managing Director of Huntingdon Community Radio. In this role he conducted a number of interviews at the presentation.
