Local Scouting Groups (1st Blisworth, 1st Byfield and the 3rd Daventry) have received generous support in the form of a Masonic donation.
The 3rd Daventry Scout Group has recently amalgamated its Beaver, Cubs and Scout sections under one roof, at its new meeting headquarters at 34 High March Industrial Estate, Daventry - leased free of charge by Daventry District Council.
However, there were other costs that the Scouts could not have met without generous help from various quarters. Lodges in Daventry (Coritani and Buckby Castle), Towcester (Towcestrian, Lactodorum and Fidelity), Stoke Bruerne (Grand Junction) and Wellingborough (Scout Lodge) and the Croughton Square and Compass Club raised money that was topped up by the Provincial Grand Charity to £5,000.
The Scouts held an informal lunch on Sunday 19 September, 2010, to celebrate the opening of their new headquarters. A Scout, Joe Moulles presented a thank you certificate, to the PGM, RWBro Barrie Hall. WBro Mike Sheppard (also Scout parent helper) thanked Councillor Alan Hills for the support of Daventry District Council.
