Certificate of Merit for WBro Wilf Rodwell

WBro Wilf Rodwell was pleasantly surprised whilst attending the Three Counties Lodge No 9278 on Wednesday 27 May 2009.  He was pleased to receive the Provincial Grand Master’s Certificate of Merit.

Born in Wells Next the Sea and educated at the Fakenham Grammar School, he attended college in Birmingham, interrupted by National Service part of which was spent in Libya.  He is married to Ruth, a very supportive wife, and has a son, daughter and two grandchildren.  In 1952 he was appointed to a teaching post in Peterborough then moved on to teach at Sawston Village College.

Returning to Peterborough in 1963, Bro Wilf was appointed Head of Mathematics and Technical Studies and then went to Deacons’ School as Head of Craft Design and Technology.

In 1970 he was initiated into Dr Oliver Lodge No 3964.  In 1985 he was Worshipful Master and is now the Lodge Preceptor. 

Bro Wilf was a Founder member of Thomas Deacon Lodge No 9126 and installed as Worshipful Master in 1987 and 2007.  He was exalted into Gildenburg Chapter and was First Principal in 1992. 

He is a member of Fitzwilliam Lodge of Mark Master Masons and was installed into the Saint Oswald Preceptory of Knights Templar becoming Eminent Preceptor in 1995.  He is now the Deputy Marshall. 

He was perfected into Dr Crucifix Chapter Rose Croix, became Most Wise Sovereign in 1994 and is also a joining member of Castle Ashby Chapter Rose Croix.
