Members and friends of the new Rushden LAMS enjoyed their first summer outing in July when they visited the cathedral city of Worcester. The 48 members and guests had some free time to start with, and visited the Cathedral, shopped and browsed before the highlight of the day – a two hour river cruise with a delicious cream tea.
Good use was made of the on-board bar as the boat cruised gracefully along in the sunshine taking in the scenic beauty of the English countryside. Swans with their cygnets glided gently in the quieter stretches of the river, while the Cathedral formed a majestic backdrop. Later that evening, by the time they had returned to Rushden, plans had already been set in motion for the next outing.
